Ustinya Malinina
Ustinya Malinina is a Russian mezzo-soprano, currently in her first year of Masters of Music at the Royal College of Music. She is a recipient of the Jessie Sumner Scholarship, for which she is deeply grateful. This scholarship has provided essential support for her studies, enabling her to continue her artistic journey at the Royal College of Music.
Throughout her career, Ustinya has been awarded many prestigious prizes, reflecting her talent and dedication to her craft:
1st prize in the 2023 Gold International Classical Music Competition, Absolute First Prize in the 2023 World Grand Prix International Music Contest, Grand Prize 2023 World Classical Music Awards and Platinum Prize in the 2023/24 London Young Musician Competition.
She has performed at many prestigious venues, including the Royal College of Music's Britten Theatre, Crocus City Hall, the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, the Oktyabr'skiy Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Gasteig in Munich, Germany.
Ustinya’s most recent roles include, ’Meg’ in ‘Falstaff’ by Verdi, ‘Elisetta’ in ‘Il Matrimonio Segreto’ by Cimarosa, 'Ottavia' in 'L'incoronazione di Poppea' and 'Melanto' in 'Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria' by Monteverdi, in addition to singing in the chorus of 'Barnum's Bird' by Libby Larsen.
